Here comes the second part of the preview. For NDP '07, their first performance is based on underwater theme.
Kids dressed up in different marine life running into the main stage performing. Jellyfish look alike Big balloons tied to the boats are moving behind the stage to further enhance the effects of underwater theme.
All your favorite seafood like Sotong, fish and jellyfish assembling together
This is another performance that make use Singapore River. Notice the snail like figure in the picture above, this decoration is being transported using Army boat also to bring it up to the stage. Quite unique as it travels from the water up to the stage.
This is my favorite performance of all. All the lights are dimmed so that these remote controlled flying kite can soar freely and beautifully in the skies above. More than 20 of these remote controlled flying kites flying around at the same time. With the CBD background, the view is magnificant!
This picture is not well taken, actually this is a fire performance. Performers play around with chained balls lighted with fire and the stage is also equipped with fire torch. You can really feel the heat on your face when they light up the fire!

Finally the show ended and every performers gathered to the main stage to sing our National Anthem.
You must be thinking that did i miss out the firework part. Yes! It is them who missed out the fireworks not me! I cant believe that this preview they are not launching any fireworks! What a disappointment, because the best part of NDP is the fireworks. Haizzz, this is not the way to cut down on budget.
Talk about the budget thing, they really cut down alot of things. For example, there are 2 Big screens but they only used 1 of the screen. As for the fire torch equipped on the stage, obviously they used torch on the left side. Right side of fire torch is left untouched.
During some of the performance, there are supposed to have quite a number of explosion but i only saw 1. The host only say 'explosion' to bring over the explosion part...Really turns me off. Maybe the reason why there are no fireworks is because that day National Stadium is also putting fireworks because that is the closing down ceremony.
Nothing is more disappointing than the fireworks. I was expecting for the fireworks and yet all the lights are up and they say thats all for the preview.
Enough of the complaints, overall this is new NDP experience, background is really nice and it is much cooling as compared to National Stadium. Smaller capacity compared to National Stadium but the seats are better. So please stay tuned for the real NDP '07, i bet it will be alot better than the preview.
