Today marks the official launch of City View @ Boon Keng showflats and application. The showflats will be open daily from 9am to 6pm right until 16 Jan. I popped by this morning around 10am despite that my queue no. was already unbelievable at 278. To control the crowd and minimize any disputes, everyone was been issued a queue no. before entering the premises. As absurd as it sounds, because of the huge turnout, you queue to get a queue no. I waited for approximately 45mins under the huge white canopy before entering the showroom. Similarly to a condo launch, a personalized tour was guided by one of their agents.
Set in a three towers design at 40 storeys high, City View @ Boon Keng bestows a panoramic view over the city skyline. If you want to catch the S'pore flyer, be sure to get Units 134, 136, 146, 148, 160, 158 as advised by the agent.
The lifestyle theme is to offer 'a garden in the city’ for the residents. This explains the sizeable balcony space and planters, which is almost equivalent to the size of the adjacent living room. Even the Master bedroom (5rm) has a mini balcony. The master bedroom for 5room is connected to the study room. If you want to expand the room, you have to pay additional $2k to knock off the wall.

A special feature is their security access. Akin to a condominium, every resident shall be given a security pass to gain access to the use of elevators. Unfortunately, there are no swimming pool or tennis courts; the amenities are only BBQ pits, children’s playground and fitness corner.
Everything seems to be so perfect but the biggest drawback is the COST. The cheapest unit at 1st storey for a 3rm flat (Type A1-G) priced at $349K as compared to the most expensive unit at 40th storey for a 5rm flat (Type C2A) at a staggering price of $725K. Out of the 714units, 72units for 3rm flat, 168units for 4rm and 474units for 5rm.I wonder who can afford the 3rm units if their household income cap set at $3K and below. And in reality, how many people can really afford to finance an $725k unit based on the household income restriction of $8K and below. I guess this is where all the bank, credit card, HDB loan comes in…..

Btw, I found that there were lots of people standing in front of the huge price list, scrambling down the numbers. I cannot be bothered to do secretarial work, I took the photo. For those who is interested, take a look at the price list:
