The centuries-long war of heroic Autobats & evil Deceptions will end on EARTH.

This 80s toy cum cartoon spin-off was slated to be a box-office hit for numerous reasons:

(1)  the uncanny characteristic of Amercian movies: small relatively unimpt boy holds the key (in this case, Allspark) to save the world.

(2) movie directed by Michael Bay whose previous directorial flims such as Bad Boys, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and The Rock, never fails to capture the audience's heart.

(3) the special effects are overwhelming. My heart was pounding fast throughout the movie. Great visual and a plus factor is the humanly movements of autobots and decepticorps.

(4) features the comeback of voice actor Peter Cullen, who's known famously for voice of Optimus Prime. Come on' still the same old voice, so full of emotional and wisdom.

(5) Well, suppose that you are not so into machinery, you can go ga-ga over greasy monkey, Megan Fox (fiance of Brian Austin Green) or Josh Duhamel (boyfriend of Fergie). I am crazy over Josh ever since he is on the show: Las Vegas. The peircing brown eyes and megawatt smile! He's now flexing his muscles in this movie.

(6) What a better timing to debut this flim on Independence Day. USA is riding high on its patriotic wagon again. Come on' dun forget this is not a work orginated from USA.

I am not a transformers fanatic but is sure nostalgic. It definitely brings back fond memories of bending those cars back then.

More than meets the eye!

 Wrong Choice of Director!!!
Saturday, 30 June 2007 - Written by takahirosg
I just watched Transformers and I can say that I was very disappointed. There was hardly any character development on the small group of robots and too much emphasis on humans when the original concept of Transformers is about robots(duh).

This Michael (idiot) Bay wasn't even a fan of Transformers before he was asked by Steven Spielberg to direct the film. Mr. Bay was calling it a stupid silly toy movie before he realized the major profits he can reap from those kids(like me) who grew up watching the cartoon and are now working adults with spending power. Claiming that he became an ardent fan after some tutelage in Transformers school at Hasbro. How can he appreciate the nostalgia of hearing the original theme song which I didn't even notice a hint of in the movie...so sad. I know it's silly but I had this overwhelming feeling to cheer when the original theme song came on but alas was greatly disappointed when it didn't.

Regarding about the robots fight scenes, almost all were close ups and very messy to the point that it became boring. Another big letdown was Starscream who didn't have his distinctive red outlook and doesn?t sound or act close enough to the original character. He was supposed to be one of the characters in the original series that stood out from the pack. Megatron was also a letdown.

At least one good thing came out from this movie, the new paint job for Optimus Prime was fantastic. ;)

Ultimately, Transformers the movie can entertain the general masses who are just purely into explosive CGI effects but will be a great disappointment to fans that grew up watching the Transformers series & animated movie.

 puzzling storyline
Friday, 29 June 2007 - Written by Jason
the movie left us too much questions after watching, e.g. why the soldiers decided to trust the boy, how the soliders differentiate good transformers from evil transformers although they look the same, how did it happen, how did the evil transformer die in the last part???

The good transformer spent a lot of time introducing themselves of having different abilities, e.g. one of them is medical transformer, but in the end they all did the same, fighting only.

If you don't bother yourself with so many questions, you will enjoy the funny movie with great visual effects.
