Before I contribute my 2cents worth of thought into this movie, the word ratatouile (pronounced as rat.a.too.ee)  as described in the dictionary, means  a seasoned stew made of eggplant, tomatoes, green peppers, squash, and sometimes meat.

Needless to say, this animation revolves around food, in fact, French food. Remy, a rat who lives in a colony in the attic of a country home with his brother Emile and father Django. Inspired by France's recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau, Remy tries to live the life of a gourmet despite the objections and sarcasm from its colony.

With a twist of fate, Remy  ends up in a Paris and in the resturant of Auguste where it met Linguini. Linguini is a kitchen boy who arrives with a letter of introduction from his recently deceased mother and is hired to do janitorial duties. Linguini aspires to be a cook but he does not have the talent and guts.

The moive depicts an unlikely pairing and friendship between a man and rat who the latter is the genius behind the sudden success of the restuarant.  The two perfect a marionette-like arrangement by which Remy tugs at Linguini's hair to control his movements and stays hidden under Linguini's toque blanche. This alliance brought a lot of funny moments in the movie.

It is a fun-filled movie to watch...entertaining for both kids and adults. Do not  expect mega side effects though. I like the idea of a talking and cooking rat.

I watch the movie... I love the simple story line.

The courage of the kitchen boy which let the food critic knows abt the "real" chef behind the good food.

At the end of the story, it did not end with "perfect" ending, but it end with a real life ending with the kind of real life response of human being....
