What will happen in the next two minutes? Nicholas Cage demonstrates how amazing it would be to able to look into the future, see into the next two minutes. With plenty of action and cool stunts, Cage pulled off the role pretty well. He plays the role of a magician at Las Vegas, and he keeps the secret of seeing into his future. FBI agent Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore) thinks Cris (Cage) can stop a terrorist bomb attack from happening, but for some reason, Cris does not want to get involved in the mission and even escaped. In a restaurant, he met the girl of his dreams Liz (Jessica Biel) who he has already seen when he looked into his future. But one thing different is that he didn?t look into the next two minutes, he saw Liz a long time ago in his visions. It was quite interesting to see Cris' visions and witty manipulations of his actions when he wanted to get to know Liz. But it is not convincing enough for Liz to fall in love with Cris in one day, and she even saved his life when Callie made her dope him. I felt that there was a slight mismatch of the cast as I don't think Biel and Cage look good together as an on-screen couple. As much as the special effects made the movie entertaining to watch, it doesn't make much sense that Cris could see into the future and yet protect his life at the same time, in instances like when he almost got ran over by a train, unless his brain could split itself into two to think so independently. There was also an awkward scene of him splitting himself into many other Cris to see where the bomb was. I felt that this scene was a little over-the-top. Generally, Next is an entertaining show to watch. A movie which you can watch while waiting for movies such as Pirates of the Carribean or Harry Potter to get on the screens.
