I was just wondering why no people wants to blog about this movie. I think it still not too late to post this blog, as it has been screening at the cinema for a few weeks. Actually, I didn't really enjoy this movie. =X I believe the directed targeting audiences are those age of 30s onwards. Even though, I understand the whole movie including the music and language.
I just feel that the whole movie keeps singing song due to their main objective (Getai). I believe my mum will loves this movie more than me.
Qi Yu Wu actd as Guan Yin. He was a mute so he did not speak through out
the whole movie. I have no idea why he loves to play with that rooster. However, there's a part he have to sell away the rooster in order to get more money for the papaya sister.

Ong acted as little papaya and Yeo Yann Yann acted as big papaya. They treats each another like close sisters. They grew up idolizing Chen Jin Lang, the King of Hokkien Getai , and
dreamt of one day becoming ‘Getai’ singers themselves. Hence, they started their singing life at the Getai.
The story was about the papaya sisters' life facing at Getai. How they become popular and were jealous by Durian sisters. Hence, they become papaya sister's rival as they kept finding troubles for the papaya sisters.
They were scenes like singers quarrel due to the 1st come 1st serve basic rule to sing their songs. I think it was quite a tough life for singers to run stages for them to sing. The papaya sisters were paid $20 per song.
They have a lot of different GeTai costumes. However, I was wondering how come it's also involved Japanese costumes. New Fresher costumes? I have to admit that they costumes are really nice for getai. Overall, bring your mum or dad to watch this show they will love it. I will give a rating of 3.5 for this movie.
