Okay. At least two reviewers have already written a review of Secret. So I will not repeat what have been said. See TheLocalKing Movie Reviews.

I will just point out the loopholes in the plot.

~~~~~~~~~SPOILERS ALERT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The girl writes words with liquid eraser on her desk, and immediately the words appear on the same desk in the future while Jay Chou is staring at its surface. The words appear as if a ghost is writing them and immediately age. It doesn't make sense. What were written in the past should just stay there, they don't appear at an instant of time.
2. When Jay passed a message paper to her girl, both girls got the message. Is that possible, if the first girl got the paper why would she pass it on to the girl behind her?
3. (In future) The girl's mother's replies when Jay came to look for the girl many times after she left him do not fit in (the girl is supposed to be dead) but that can be explained away by the mother has gone crazy that's why she said wierd things.
4. Has nobody ever felt strange that Jay always talked to himself?
Bottomline, Jay need to work harder to be a good script writer.
Wednesday, 03 September 2008 - Written by Homage to a simple story that touched the heart.
1. Imagine that the past is being rewritten, at this very moment in time. Both the events 20 years ago and the present are simultaneously occuring.
Just like as Xiao Yu was penning down her last words on the desk, in the future (present) time-space continum Jay is at the very same desk and he is witnessing the consequences of an instantaneous 20 years fly-by.
It is soundly logical theoretically, but what YOU can't accept is the "improbability" of it. Yeah, but I can only comment that Jay definitely has a very vivid imagination to be able to visualise such a memorable and moving scene.
2. Not following the story were you. Xiao Yu didn't get the note; she was happily looking for Jay at that time and chanced upon the unfortunate pair...
3. Grief. And self-denial. You can see this happening around you if only you'd care to look.
4. Well... they probably dismissed him as a weirdo, especially the solo dancing episode. Additionally, Xiao Yu and Jay always seem to be at some romantic secluded place so... no question of others catching him having a private conversation with himself :)
ACTUALLY I thought the most prominent and most significant loophole was the ending. Because the time 'portal' seem to only transport them exactly 20 years forwards and backwards. So... by its own definitions Jay should be travelling to exactly 20 years back, at the time just after Xiao Yu's death innit?
And before Xiao Yu 'died' in the past, wouldn't she have an adult version in the present? Because when she travelled to the present, she was still having a happy time with Jay and probably wouldn't have died. So in Jay's time, she would actually be 20 years older than him. Perhaps this ties in with a message that everything in life is dictated by fate. And given an opportunity to change it, would you seize it or...?
Of course, just enjoy the movie for what it really is at heart - a simple romance with a clever and well-integrated twist in the plot. Cheers.
 about number 3
3. I think Yu was still alive at that time because when they went to the rooftop of that one building where they first kissed, Lu stopped for a moment on the way up and stared into the window of the adjoining house and if you look closely there was a woman standing there. Also, before Yu died, her mother kept saying that she couldn't see him (she seemed normal) but after she died she let him in and was saying "oh she was here before.." when she couldn't find Yu in the room and Yu was alive only a short while before. Yu also mentioned to her mom in the past that she couldn't open the door and maybe that has a spiritual meaning, like since the her spirit is still in there she can't enter. Also, when her mom said she was sleeping and he couldnt come in bc she was sick, it parallels to around the time in the past when Yu was sick.
Basically everything in the past paralleled the future.
 不能說的秘密
2 type of time travel: terminator & back 2 the future. fated vs butterfly effect.
1 when xiao yu wrote down those words, the words stay on the table for 20 yrs. Word by word it appear as she wrote it down.
2 not both girls, only qin yi have the note. Xiao yu was just happen to be there. If Yu know that Lun is coming, would she have left the room and saw DaYong instead?
3 Yu was still alive at that time
4 Yu doesn't talk to Lun when other people is there.
On top of that, I am rather confused with the ending part. Does it means that Jay went back to join her? If yes, then Jay does not understand basic "theoretical" believe in time travelling. If you change the past, i.e. history, there is a serious repercussion. For example, his father might not get married or might even die or change job since Jay changes the history. And so he may not exist in the future, no matter where he goes. Also because he went back to the past, that girl might not die and might not even found the "secret" book. Then how can jay time travelled? Jay left behind a chicken-and-egg question.
1979 and 1999 are connected.
the liquid paper markings appears because it is a new scenario, that Jay helped to create. Without the new relationship that Jay and Xiao Yu had, there will not be liquid paper markings, which explains why there liquid paper markings appear instantenous instead of from the begining of the movie.
I do have one funny note to make, which i have see any answers in most forums.
When Jay sends Xiao Yu on his bicycle home, does Xiao Yu need to walk back to school, go to the old piano room, then play the song to get back to her time?
re:
1. not logical in reality. agree.
2. e girl dunno xiaoyu there, tot xiaolun pass to her. so she read n xiaoyu of cus noe e girl cant c her so wont pass to her, hence look over e shoulders. xiaoyu sits behind e girl.
3. mum is regretful, allowing herself to live in e past pretend xiaoyu stil alive. semi mental state unhealthy.
4. true loophole. wat i see was xiaolun mostly w xiaoyu, 2 alone, no others ard=din c. lil time w others. if others c him talking to himself, 1or2 time mos pp wont say anythg. but ah lang gt say it was strange he danced alone altho he tot xiaolun AA-ing. n start e girl tot xiaolun ask for her name when he ask for xiaoyu name actually.
2c worth.
