This is one of the most "woo ha" show in town this season. Chinese movies are getting more and more interesting than before nowadays, with huge budgets, good looking casts and interesting storylines that wont make you fall asleep. I used to limit chinese movies to vcd and dvd, but now i don't. It's getting more worthwhile to enjoy the beautiful scenaries, drum-beating sound effects in the movie theatres. The show is around 2 hours and 15 mins, but i don't get bored a single moment. There aint no draggy scenes, even the dialogues are very engaging. The warring scenes and peaceful scenes are splitted proportionately, resulting in a nice mix of heart-throbs and heart-warming moments. This is a show i would say die die must watch.
Speaking of good looking casts, who else compare to the gorgeous taiwanese super model Lin Chi-Ling, who plays as the Xiao Qiao, the wife of the charming tony leong who acts as the lead character General/Admiral Zhou Yu. They are a loving couple in the show, and Lin Chi-Ling's beauty is fully displayed in the show, full of grace and eastern beauty. Guys could hardly resist her.
Well, Lin Chi-Ling is for the guys, the girl will have their fair share watching Tony Leong, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Oh well, in terms of storyline, guys who have either read or played the game of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, should be very familiar with it. Nevertheless, the storyline is a bit tweaked to make the show more interesting. Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu became good friends in the show, instead of being competiting with each other as in the real story. That's the biggest twist. While other than that, the director has cleverly added some small small funny moments when the spectators can view a more cheerful sight in the warring time. It kind of change the mood incidentally, giving the audience some small surprises here and there. The director also tries to showcase the "man-liness" and heroic view of the generals by making them to fight alone single-handedly against small troops of enemy soldiers. And that is the timing when they already got the enemy separated into small groups, and the wont need to do these. Ha ha. Nevertheless, watching these scenes do really make your heart beat faster and admire the courage of the warriors. Well, not too much spoilers. Just one last bit, the story doesn't end in the 2 hour plus show, there's a second part to it coming at the end of the year, hopefully. I'll gonna watch it for sure!
