The idea of having rice balls really tempted me to try out this shop outside AMK Hub. At least you couldn't really find it just around anywhere in Singapore.

It's labelled "Yes! Asian Cafe.

It's a small cafe with only around 10 tables, but they do have a lot of items on their menu. From toasts to western food to their unique rice balls.

When i was deciding what to drink, the counter staff recommends me their speciality yes! coffee. Alright, it tastes better than normal kopitiam coffee, but i dun think it's from expresso or anything high class. One glass like this cost $2.50, a bit ex!

They have 3 flavours of rice ball, namely Thai pineapple rice, chicken rice and teriyaki rice. One plate of 3 balls cost $2.90. You can choose only one kind or their combo.

See the chilli beside the rice ball? It's beside every rice ball. At first i thought all 3 chilli are different for each rice ball. Nah! all the same. disappointed.

rice ball

Looks quite ok....

The one above is the Thai pineapple rice, though I don't see any pineapples in it. There's 2 pieces of shrimp inside, taste ok only...

The chicken rice ball. A bit oilier than the Thai pineapple riceball, taste a bit below average.

There's a skimpy piece of chicken meat inside, and it's too dry. Not nice!

Before i can lay my spoon on the teriyaki riceball, it fell apart. Quite disappointed about that.

Nevertheless, there's teriyaki sauce topped on the rice ball, and i would say it's the best among the 3. But it's also average only. The chicken meat inside is too little.

Conclusion: It's not very filling and doesn't taste really good. But if you had never tried riceball before (like me), u can give it a try.

YYEEESSSSSS!!! At last a place with Singapore flavour. Cant really descibe the place and food there....really unique. Its something like a mixture of Chinese, western, italian, thai.....Woo hoo!! ASIAN ROJAK makan place. I suggest they try some mixture of european food. Hey! i saw their upcoming new french christmas set. Woo la la! And they also came up with a whole new set of menu!
Nice! Try their Mee Goreng Chinese style. Worth eating. Service was fantastic(when there's no crowd :p)Who can serve a crowded cafe with one poor service staff working like a crazy dog running around trying to fulfill every fussy customers' needs. Salute to you whoever you are. Found out that he's working 2 jobs and this as part time. Can see him every evening. With his handsome tiger striped bike. Try chatting with him when its not crowded. He'll recommand you all the food there and he'll even tell you wat is not so good! LOL.. Overall rating I give 8/10. GOOD WORK!! YYESSSS I love it!!

 Yes Cafe

hi, just went to AMK hub to shop and dine. Usual long weekend queue at most of the eateries so decided not to wait and go for someting faster. Discover "Yes" on myway out to S11. got space and no quese so decided to give it a try. Very interesting and unique experience. when the food is serve the looks does not impressed me.(BTW, we order the Steak and the Fish&Chips. ) But as I tasted them, found that they are in fact much better then those served during lunch hour by those established restaurants chains. At the price they are charging which is slighly higher than those, it's deifnitely a bargain. Cant say the same thing about the coffee. Very nice but price on the high side though. Will definite go back to try the rice balls one of these days after what I read from other user comments.

YES! it is not that bad......

hi! I am responding to the two earlier article on this new cafe in town, YES! Asian Cafe. personally,I find this new cafe very unique! Though it is not that spacious ( but definitely more then 10 tables , I counted, should be 16 or more ), I find its food, service and ambience; all very good! Yesterday, I was there with my gf for dinner before going to catch a movie at Cathay, we really had a good time there at YES! We ordered the FISH & CHIPs and their Hor Fun Carbonara ( YES! horfun topped with Carbonara sauce .....they boast it is WORLD's FIRST! which we do believe it is FIRST of such PASTA in the world )and the food was pretty GOOD! We ordered their ICE MILK TEA with grass jelly, and it is very nice. I think this place is a place worth going .........their service is good and their operating hours are long ( I heard it is from as early as 7am till 1130pm ).
overall....me and my gf rate this place 7/10.

 YES! Asian Cafe
Wednesday, 27 June 2007 - Written by Jay Chow Fun
hi! After I visited YES!Asian Cafe....I was totally IMPRESSED and really would like to offer a HUGE contrary to what this author had mentioned.

On the RICE BALLS! I think it is COOL! Especially with the COMBO! $ 2.90 to taste three unique rice balls with good sauce and chillies. I checked with the chef, who 's name is ALEX Foo...( formerly from some reputable dining establishments!) these rice balls aim to offer unique taste, variety, good quality and yet quick dining of Asian 's # 1 staple food- RICE to the customers. Each sauce ( teriyaki, Pineapple ( blended ) and hainanese chicken rice chillies ) are specially made by him and so far well endorsed by many of the customers. Personally, I find it very filling and the meat serving is just nice. I think this dish lives up to the tag line I saw at the outside of the shop : " PAN ASIAN, QUICK CASUAL". It is very Asianic and could be dine in a fast and casual way!
I also tried out their " Asian Pasta" ! It was unusually GOOD! Cos where could you find a HOR FUN top with Carbonara sauce???? It's totally delicious. As for drink, I like its Supreme SODA. It is a very cool and large serving of a lime or lemon flavoured soda drink. COOL!
My rating for this unique , Asian Cafe is 4/5 * . Service is cool. and the ambience is nice. I will definitely return again soon for more food from this cafe.!!!
