Hopped on to Holland V for a cool nights out on Friday night. One place i would like to recommend is the Wala Wala Cafe Bar. It's along the stretch at the inner side near the coffee club in Holland Village. Holland V is only so small, quite easy to find.
It's a pub with good food and price, and best of all what attracts me is the live band playing every night. The ground floor is quite an open concept cafe pub, while the 2nd storey is where the live band and bar is. I usually find lots of caucasians seated at the ground floor cafe pub having dinner and drinking, relaxing, chatting under the starry night sky.
From the time it opened until 9pm is Happy Hour, one for one on housepour liquor and beer. When I'm extremely broke, i just get a bourbon coke, which is 2 with the one for one, costs me only $11. But usually i'll get 2 jugs of beer for less than $40 to share with friends, good price. The finger food are my favourites. Fries, wings, pizza etc all come in very reasonable prices.
The first time i went there is because of the live band, i especially enjoy the UnXpected Band playing on thursday nights, the female vocalists really have a powerful voice to rock the house all night long. The live band starts at around 9.30pm, half an hour each session for 3 sessions. However, there's usually a solo guitarist singing at around 8pm to entertain the early birds.
Speaking of early birds, i recommend you would rather be there early before 8pm on fridays, or else you either end up having no seats or queueing up for quite a while in order to get in. While that only applies if you are going to the pub at the 2nd floor, it's pretty crowded you can hardly move around easily.
Lastly, one can go in with any attire, berms and slippers are alright!
