Last weekend, my aunt organized a gathering cum dinner for all our family members at Wah Lok restaurant at Carlton Hotel. It is called Hua Le in Chinese.
It is a Chinese restaurant and the designs are quite authentic and traditional. We have some finger food while waiting for the dishes to be served.
We had 2 small plates of walnuts for each table. It is crunchy and tastes good. Since it was still Chinese New Year period, the Fa Cai Yu Sheng is of course one of our dishes. We waited for quite some time before it was being served.
Fa Cai Yu Sheng served with salmon
Our second dish was the chicken. It is definitely different from what the chicken rice sells. Haha. It has different gravy which tastes of herbs.
Next we had fried prawns with salad cream. The salad cream goes well with the succulent prawns.
Pork with asparagus
We also had vegetables with tofu.
This is Yong Tau Foo cooked in claypot.
Next up was the pork ribs. Each of us had one plate of it. It was quite big. Slicing it up tells me how fatty it is. Oops! Haha. Do remove the fats before you eat. Or else you got to make sure you run many rounds so as to eliminate the fats in your stomach.
Our last dish was the fried rice.
Lastly, we had our desserts. The round glutinous rice ball coated with sesame seeds contains lotus seed paste. I personally think the price is abit too expensive for the food. In addition, not all the dishes taste as palatable as we expect. However, dishes like the fried prawns with salad cream and the desserts are worth trying.
