Aw~ I dont know how the picture looks but i thought it meant sweet sweet sweet. Buffet without desserts, thats kinda unlikely isnt it? Any with its splendour and taste of chocolately class, chocolate fountains have found its way into the dining scene of singapore for some time now. so it did, into Carousel's buffet dining.
Carousel's Buffet has very pretty and nicely presented Aftermeals selection, namely the sweet Desserts and the sweet fruits.
I believe Chocolate Fountain is really a way to ease your guilt of downing Sweetie Chocolate as dessert since they are accompanied by the healthy, Fruits. In case you dont know, Health Promotion Board encourages 2 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables each, Daily. Well, they did not say that you cant have 2 servings daily with chocolate coated over, right?
Their chocolate fountain serves the ever popular Strawberries, with Pineapples, Grapes and a plum like fruit which i dont know what it is, served too. the fruits are skewered individually using metal skewers rather than inpresentable satay sticks, and are hung on metal racks. it does give a fruits in suspension type of feel. 5-tiers chocolate fountain is just a common poise hotel buffets should at least offer.

Pardon me if thought the Strawberries look unripe. but well, most Strawberries available in Singapore isnt that fantastic either, but the main reason why the berries could not be more appealing was because of its popularity which results in so many people queueing for it, and i cant possibly rush to the front of the queue to take a picture, do i?
By the way, i dont do chocolate 99/100 times. so no personal comments but my young cousin felt it was a little bitter while my sister thought it was just fine.
The popular chocolate fountain in Carousel shares a same counter with the ever popular Ice Cream station, albeit that Ice Creams are still regularly restricted to just Strawberries, Vanilla and Chocolate. Yet, even when restricted to only 3 more than comman flavours, a smooth texture and well done ice cream can make do for its limitations.

The Ice Creams.
Hmm. if you thought that the few bottles are the only toppings for your ice cream, you are terribly wrong, for perhaps another reason to contribute to the popularity of the Ice Creams, has had to do with, its Variety of Toppings available!
TaDah...

Well, i think, from the picture, we can tell that Rainbow rice is the most popular topping! Haha.
We will move on the the fruity fruits before proceeding to the cakes. Oh~ Fruits and cakes~
I think it is really very considerate of them to cut the fruits up into bitesize. true bite size. normally we are served with cut fruit that requires 2-3 bites for average sized mouths, of course, some can do it in 1 mouth, that i have no doubt although i cant. this, they cut the fruits into bitesize cubes. so it is really 1 mouth 1 cube unless you've got a kids' sized mouth.
They have got a selection of Papaya(My Favs among here), Rock Melon (Really Sweet Sweet), Watermelon, Honey Dew, Pineapples and dragon fruits. Very tropical Fruits. the Fruits are really very very sweet. in fact, the rock melon was so sweet that I(who does not eat sweets and has no sweet tooth), was numbed by its sweetness. wonder where they get sweet fruits supplied from. there are various milk etc stuff which i think if like those dessert's coconut milk etc to go with the fruits. i prefer my fruits plain and original so i did not bother to take a look and open up the lids to the 'dishes' placed below the fruits.

Remember to eat your fruits!
And last on my posts for Carousel, the dessert's cakes!!!
they serve those mini cakes small to be labelled bitesize but you know what, i thought when eating sweet cakes, normally, our mouth shrinks in its bite to half of the original bitesize, so this bitesize cake needs 2 small bites to complete. or otherwise, you can take it in 1 bite, as graceful as you could.

The mousse cakes did seem nice, but i do not like mousse personally. but i thought the chocolate mousse was tempting enough.

This cake does look nice, but my Fav? Cheese cake of course! see below.

These exotic cheesecakes are always snapped up fast whenever replenished. the top of the cheesecake is the exotic flavour, with berry like taste, berry like sourness. i took the top off, and ate only the cheesecake, which was fantastic. creamy and rich but not sickly cheesy. the bottom crust was crisp but not hard, optimum to your cheesy bite.
they have got very pretty cups of desserts, mousse and sorts. i did not taste them(no sweet tooth remember?) in my mouth but i admired them through my eyes and felt.

The Carousel is located at Plaza Royal on Scotts which is opposite of Far East Plaza and is just next to DFS Galleria. it has got a very nice dining website done which is definitely worth a click if you plan to know more.
