Me and my friends went to this buffet restaurant beside Clementi Road near National University of Singapore to have lunch. I don't really like eating buffet. Always came out feeling rugi. But I made an exception this time

Buffet Prices (Nett) Weekdays Orchard Outlet Only
Lunch $20 $22
Dinner $24 $26
Kids $10.90 $11.90
(additional $2 on weekend, PH & Eve of PH)

The price is cheap. I mean compare to those $3X, $4X buffet. The environment, ambience is good. Varieties of food are broad.

BUT, the quality of food sucks. Chinese cooked dishes are poorly made, that can be understood, it's a Japanese restaurant. But I think Japanese dishes are also poorly made, because I don't see any Japanese inside the restaurant, and it is supposed to be near a Japanese community! I think they want to save more money by buying 2nd-grade ingredient / material in bulk to cook. The taste of raw seafood is unbearable, they are so poorly processed. Luckily my stomach did not get hurt.

Not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I do agree with you, the quality of the food is really quite bad. I don't understand why people I know enjoy eating food from Sakura. Likewise, I would rather pay for better food.

My friens and I from Clementi Loop went down and had a great dinner. We were warmly welcomed and the staff made us feel at home. The variety was great and so was the quality.

Once a quarter a must visit.

 Which is best?
Tuesday, 24 April 2007 - Written by Jasmine
Personally, I only been to two outlets: orch & clementi. I feel the clementi outlet is less crowded but the only bad thing is that you have to climb stairs. The buffet spread is located on two storeys.Orchard branch serves oysters!

buses: 183,33,188,96

nearest mrt station is Clementi, take 96 from there, and alight beside NUS faculty of engineering bus stop then cross the overhead bridge, then walk a distance, a Japanese school is nearby, then turn right when you see a signpost, the restaurant is in the end of the road, it has a very wierd entrance, quite obscure.

Yup, we tried this buffet restaurant during CNY in Orchard Shopping Centre

The whole area is so biggggg and there really has a huge range of food & drink & dessert!!

I love the grill section where you can order and they'll serve you to your table!!

For sure I will go and try again!! Highly recommended!!

Frankly, I find its quite value 4 $. Overall I love the service, ambience and the sharks fin soup + limited sashimis at the Toa Payoh branch...they have teppan ala-minute chicken chops, beef steak, unagi, lamb chops and squid with teriyaki sauce...hmmm!!...succulent and delectable!!!

Basically speaking, if u r gonna have a decent Jap buffet made-for-the-Singaporeans, and u don't wanna burn a hole through your pockets, this is the place to have a go!

& I have a meal with my family there almost every week!!...We are not cheapos, just love the Appetisers and the array of food and restaurant service.
