This review is to carry on my food review from my Old Airport Rd Hawker Center Reopen!!- Part 1. And so the sourcing of good food continues....

There are quite a lot of 'tze char' stalls inside this Hawker Center. I saw quite a number of tables eating lala and gong gong.

If you dont know what are these, they are actually similar breed to 'Dua Tao'  Mussel. I ordered sambal stir fried lala to try it out. As usual, they told me to wait for 30 mins.
As long as its good food, i am willing to wait

The lala here is very big compared to what i used to eat before.
The shells are also heavier and thicker, that also apply to the meat inside as well.
The meat inside is big and juicy. It is not overcooked or else the meat inside will shrink like nobody's business.

I must admit the cook really knows how to cook sambal lala.
The sambal gravy is spicy and it would be great if you have a bowl of white rice to go along with the gravy. $8 for this plate is reasonable.
If they would calculate according to the weight , it would have been very expensive because the shells are very heavy.

This is the longest queue i have noticed in the whole market. So how can i missed out the review on this stall! It is selling hong kong style 'zhu chang fen'
Those you can eat in those HK dim sum type of 'zhu chang fen'
I was sitting near the stall so i was observing their queue so i can go queue up when there are no more people. I gave up eventually because the queue doesnt seem to end.
So i just have to start queuing up like the others
Alright i waited 30 mins for this also, there are quite a number of filling to choose from.
There are 'char siew',chicken, mushrooms, prawns at $2 each. There is also scallop filling at $3 each.

Too bad i got no chance to try out all the different type of fillings because all are sold out except the prawn and mushrooms fillings.
For $2, it is more than what you can usually eat at HK dim sum and it is only made when you order so it served fresh and hot!! The skin is tender and thin, texture is smooth and they are very generous with their fillings also.  Another must try

This is the 'tang yuan' that my brother bought from an unknown stall
Hmm, the peanut soup is served hot so still not too bad. The picture on the left is dumpling with peanut filling and the right picture is black sesame filling.
Very normal dessert

Conclusion: Its a great news that finally it is reopen, the whole hawker got its new look. Food standards are still there and the variety of food you can choose from is alot. Cant possibly finish all the food in 1 visit. Price seems to goes up by a little after the renovation but it is still reasonable. I would recommend everyone to come here and try out their food. It nice! Maybe avoid weekend dinner because it will be damn packed with hungry people
