If you like to eat mee sua, then you must not miss this one. Unlike Shihlin, the main ingredient for this mee sua is not oyster, so no worries about shortage of oysters! The main ingredient for this mee sua is actually pig’s kidney. For those of you who dare to eat that.. this mee sua is a must try.
The store is located at a hawker center in bedok.. and during lunch and dinner time, you will see many tables ordering the food from there. They should be selling hundreds per day since they always manage to clear the piles of red bowls that they put in front of the shop.
I especially love the soup for the kidney mee sua. The soup for the mee sua is delicious and flavorful.. I guess they must have cooked the soup base for quite a long time. The mee sua and the kidneys are all soft and tender.. very easy to consume and is a favourites among families with kids too.
Other than selling their signature mee sua, they also sell an assorted range of food. Another worth to mention is their teochew steamed promfret. The fish is tender and not overcooked and it is accompanied with lots of mushrooms, beancurd and salted vegetables. Healthy and taste great! I will always dip my fish in the soy sauce with chilli and it tasted nice and spicy!
They also sell herbal soups like black chicken soup, which of course, is equally tasty and you cannot get enough of the soup. The black chicken’s meat is soft and just right, unlike some herbal soup stores where the meat is rough and not appetizing.
The prices are reasonable, just like any other stores selling in the hawker centre. It is definitely worth a try. You do not have to wait long too as they have a lot of helpers and serves fast. It is just about finding a seat in the hawker center!
