For the past few years, we had been going to restaurants and man, their food sucked and their prices are unreasonable. Today, we went to ang mo kio avenue 10, block 555 to eat their zi char.

We had two tables - around 20people. We ate some of their signature dishes like crispy chicken. It's yummy-licious! The sauce that is drizzled across the chicken... *swoons~ We also had fried tofu (the tofu is totally covered with flour, deep fried and surprisingly not oily at all!), brocolli with scallops and mushrooms, steamed fish (which is a dish rarely cooked well in hawker centres, but THEY DID IT!), oatmeal cereal prawns, black pepper crab and butter crab.

I've never liked black pepper crab before, cuz most people cooked them till it's too dry and the black pepper 'sauce' is just a layer of... something on the crabs. THIS black pepper crab is juicy! Totally. And the crab has an unbelievable amount of meat, which go tiong tiong tiong when you chew it.

I've never tried butter crab before. Their butter sauce is fragrant, but not too buttery (if you get what i mean). One don't get sick of the sauce at all, cuz it's consistency is just nice. All of us kept drinking the sauce, cuz it's just TOO DELICIOUS! *faints! My dad kept taking the sauce together with his rice. Haha.

For two tables of around 20people, the cost is super reasonable lei! $300 = satisfaction = good food + happy family.

Mind, the cost of this meal is high cuz we order double servings of each dish and our choice of dishes are mostly on the pricier side of the menu. I do think the price is reasonable, comparable to other hawker fare and it's food standards can be compared to restaurants as well.

Pardon for the lack of pictures. I wanted to take, but once the food start arriving, the aroma of it entice everyone to start digging in immediately. And i followed suit...

Oh yes, they do give out free desserts when you eat there with them. Good service, good food. Worth the trip.
