This is one famous bak cho mee at kovan, just a 200 hundred metres walk from the Kovan MRT station, along upper serangoon road, towards the direction of tampines road and you could see 2 long queues of people lining up for food. One of it is for the famous Bak Cho Mee.
I came there in the afternoon, so the queue wasn't that long, but it's damn slow... There are only like 5 people in front of me, and i waited like half an hour before my turn. The uncle just take his time to cook, well....
Other than bak cho mee, they also got fish ball mee, meat ball soup and mee sua, but they are famous for their bak cho mee. I still remember my platoon mate used to "da bao" the bak cho mee from there when he's going back to camp from kovan.
After a long wait, i finally get to try on how good it really is. The soup looks very meaty, i tasted it..... hmm.....
I can't say i like the soup, it got a really meaty taste, too meaty.... the pork taste is too strong for me. Don't like it.
Well, the chilli is really damn power and shiok, you'll surely like it if you are a chilli lover. The meat tastes quite fresh too. However, seems like the ingredients not a lot, not shiok enough. I would expect the mushroom to be cooked separately with a thick, black mushroom sauce, but too bad it isn't.
Well, overall, i think the bak cho mee is ok only....
