			<title>Movie Review - G.I.JOE</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/kuala-lumpur/miscellaneous--others/movie-review---g.i.joe.html</link>
			<description>

Those who is above 20 years of age now should familiar with G.I.JOE, the famous cartoon for kids in early years, particularly for male. Surprisingly, when on earth it didn't exist in my memory at all. Perhaps it is an action movie, more famous amongst male rather than female. My male friend who is really a big fan of this cartoon and he used to collect all the stuff of G.I.JOE at his young age during that time. With a compliment ticket and no disappointment, I was kind of enjoyed this movie which has some mindless carnage with a few cool action and special effects.

			<title>living la villa ! :) rustic dining, great service &amp; fab food :)</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/living-la-villa---rustic-dining-great-service--fab-food-.html</link>
			<description>we didn&amp;rsquo;t know where to eat so it was a random pick, this newly opened restaurant opposite his place, called La Villa (http://www.lavilla.sg/), along River Valley Road, me thinks.

We didn&amp;rsquo;t know how cheap/expensive the place was gonna be, but just decided to give it a try!

I think the waiter looked at chai like one kind la cos he was in slippers and berms. heh but too bad he still had to entertain me, in work clothes. muahaha.

The place looks erm.. pretty poshy, rustic-y kinda feel. nice though. there is a grill area outside, you can have unlimited flow of grilled items for SGD34++ (macam promoting ahha!)

We were conned! We wanted water and the guy gave me mineral water from the bottle. Hence SGD7 down the holeee.

But the breadstick basket was really yummy! dipped in olive oil balsamic vinegar. i was so adamant not to dip it cos its oil!!!!!! but i tried abit lah, might as well. fragrant, to my surprise!

Our starter, appetizer thingy i think. Those shavings on top are cheeseeeeeee!! Need I say more? The bee slices below are scrumptious!! Yes I ate those veggies okay! Proud of myself!

My smoked salmon pizza! decided to go fish (since i&amp;rsquo;ve been avoiding my Omega-3 fats for a few weeks now. I don&amp;rsquo;t like fish because I am scared of the small bones getting stuck in my throat. *horror)
There&amp;rsquo;s macarpone cheese underneath&amp;hellip;and then sprinkle parmesan on top! capers too.
Oh I don&amp;rsquo;t like spinach like that. It looks too. uhmmm. raw and fresh. hahaha&amp;hellip;. too nutritious for me

his risotto! seafood! full of flavour and yummy risotto bits.

of course we shared the food la. his risotto look so nice, i also want to eat.

very attentive staff. me likes. wood oven baked pizza, by the way. the oven can be seen over the counter.

Totally enjoyed the experience. Good food, good company. I mean,the place is tucked in somewhere in the city area, so you can walk from Great World, take a shuttle, or drive. Ample parking there.

Food starts at about $19 per dish (not including taxes)
Our dishes + our $7 bottle of water + his juice + taxes = $92

Pretty expensive, but u should try, cos it&amp;rsquo;s really quaint and lovely.luxrious.

			<title>Fa Ji Minced Pork Noodles @ Kovan Hougang Market &amp; Food Centre</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/fa-ji-minced-pork-noodles--kovan-hougang-market--food-centre.html</link>
			<description>

How often do you get a big bowl of noodles cooked by a handsome and macho hawker? Chances are not very high, although HFB spotted one located at Kovan Hougang Market Food Centre.
It always makes me wonder why there is always such a long queue outside Fa Ji Noodles stall &amp;ndash; are the noodles really that great-tasting or are they simply adoring fans of the hawker himself?
If you don&amp;rsquo;t believe, you can see it for yourself (In fact HFB thought he distinctively like look an older, more macho copy of Krisandro &amp;ndash; are you guys related?).
At $3.00 for a bowl or Minced Pork Noodle Dry, HFB thought the noodles and ingredients were really generous &amp;ndash; Minced pork, Fishcake, Pig Liver, Meatball, and dash of Braised Mushrooms!
Although HFB did felt that the Vinegar was slightly overpowering, the Chilli within more than made up for it. Noodles were cooked just right, thus making the whole bowl of minced pork noodles an instant gratification!
Being a glutton, HFB wouldn&amp;rsquo;t stop at just a bowl of noodles (of course). A bowl of Meatball Soup ($3.00) was added to the order, but somehow it kinda missed the mark. The meatballs are the softer, none the chewy, meatier type.
Somehow HFB is more of a sucker for those supermarkets off-the-shelf meatballs (tip: look out for the ones with the lion dance packaging, they taste really awesome!!!).

			<title>La Petite Cuisine @ Serene Centre</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/la-petite-cuisine--serene-centre.html</link>
			<description>

Tucked in the corner of Serene Centre lies La Petite Cuisine, an eatery that serves simple French fare with a delicate touch. For a no-frills, tiny establishment estimated not more than 20 tables (they have since expanded outside just next to the pavement), their menu is pretty extensive.

Although one needs to make their way to the cashier to place their orders, the good news is they do not charge GST. Also do not expect fanciful plateware and cutlery set as the complimentary bread came serve in plastic plate. Bread was warm but otherwise nothing extraordinary.

The Ravioli of Prawns Foie Gras in Light Lemon Cr&amp;egrave;me ($14.00) was pretty interesting &amp;ndash; the ingredients within the ravioli was generous, and the sauce was nice, but despondently, one could see the foie gras but not taste it &amp;ndash; the prawns simply overwhelmed the former. In fact, it tasted more like prawn dumplings served French style.

The Foie Gras Panfried with Orange Confit Served with Salad ($17.00) was of decent portion. At such a size, HFB thought it was pretty good value for money. Nicely panfried on the surface, yet quiver when cut, it was done pleasingly. The orange sauce that came along with it goes really well also. Love it!

You must definitely give the Confit de Canard with Gratin ($15.00) a try if you pay them a visit. The duck skin is slow-cooked to a perfect crisp, and fully flavoured. The mash that came with it was smooth and delightful too. This dish was way better than the lousy version served at The French Stall along Serangoon Road.

The dessert though was very disappointing &amp;ndash; HFB could understand the 20 minutes wait for a hot dessert, but the Tarte Tatin, or Apple Tarte ($6.50) was just unpleasant in many ways. Serving was measly, and the whole puff pastry stacked above two slices of apple arrangement just failed miserably. HFB end up eating the puff pastry separately from the apples, which was still slightly unyielding for consumption.

He reckon one would be better off having ice cream at Island Creamery next door!

			<title>Tully's is good if you're a coffee drinker</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/tullys-is-good-if-youre-a-coffee-drinker.html</link>
			<description>I come to Tully's once in a while. It's one of my favourite chillout coffee place with WIFI acesss. Nice quiet surroundings where you can sit down with a good book or just watch the world go by.

My favourite is the White Chocolate Mocha. It's sweet but I like it. Also had that chocolatey kick to it. The texture is smooooth ...one sip, then a gulp, then you are hooked!

Have also tried their Espresso Shake. Out of this world!! nothing like the rest of the ice blended coffees I tasted. Smooth texture. And the amount of coffee is just right.

Other than that, have not checked out the rest of their beverages. And if you're not a coffee drinker, the choices can seem a little limited. None coffee drinks are there, but as I said, choice can be limited.

			<title>Quiznos has nice sandwiches and WiFi</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/quiznos-has-nice-sandwiches-and-wifi.html</link>
			<description>I go to Quiznos once in a while, mainly because of their free WiFi and of course for their food.

Their sandwiches are pretty good. So far, have tried the Mesquite Chicken, Classic Italian and Honey Mustard Chicken.

The Classic Italian can be a little salty, mainly due to the salami. But I like the cheese inside.

The mesquite chicken sandwich is also not too bad as they add bacon to this sandwich. So you get a nice blend of chicken and bacon flavour.

My favourite's the honey mustard chicken. Comes with bacon, and the tangy taste of the mustard salad sauce is good.

Another plus point here is that they have a pickle bar concept where you can help yourself to free flow of pickles and various sauces. Which means you can have different sauces and dressings on your food no matter which one your order! Prices wise, it's average. About $6 for 6 inch.

			<title>Tully's Coffee has great Espresso Shake</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/tullys-coffee-has-great-espresso-shake.html</link>
			<description>

I was introduced to Tully's Coffee by some friends. They told me that I MUST TRY the Espresso Shake. I did. And it's out of this world. Ice coffee blended with vanilla ice cream, producing a creamy texture. The sweetness also gives me the kick! So that also means not too often if I'm watching my weight.

Have also tried their White Chocolate Mocha. It's a hot beverage and definitely must go along with their sticky, chewy cookies. I got the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie and when you dip it into the chocolatey mocha, it's heavenly....

This place also has free WiFi so it's pretty cool to bring you laptop and chillout here. However, I find the beverage prices a little on the high side. If the prices are lower, I will definitely come here more often!

			<title>Quiznos Sub Sandwiches - Must try Zesty Grill Steak</title>
			<link>http://www.thelocalking.com/singapore/eat--drink/quiznos-sub-sandwiches---must-try-zesty-grill-steak.html</link>
			<description>

I visted Quiznos Sub sandwiches a few times and this is the place to go if you have a sandwich craving.

I like their Zesty Grill Steak because of its juicy tender pieces of beef. The marinate is also slightly sweetish, which is what I like. Not too sure what type of bread they use (Rosemary?) but it goes very well with the succulent pieces of beef. The downside however is there's not enough vegetables in the sandwich.

My friend ordered the Salmon Turkey. It's not too bad but a little too spicey. Also not much of a parsley person. Maybe they could replace it with other veg like lettuce ...

If you are really hungry, you can order the footlong at $10.90, or order the footlong and share it with your friends. I also come to Quiznos sometimes after work to chiilout with magazine, because it's Far East Square location is good for people watching.
