1. What is TheLocalKing?
TheLocalKing is a new way to share your experience on everyday items in life with your friends & community. If you think others deserve the satisfaction you feel after using a goodie you just bought, recommend it on TheLocalKing. If you think you need to find out more about something before spending your money, learn what others say about it on TheLocalKing.

Find out right now what items are hot and popular, what places give you the best entertainment in your vincinity. TheLocalKing is designed to give you much better information than TV commercials and newspaper advertisements.

2. What can I do with TheLocalKing?
You can use TheLocalKing to search for reviews, ratings and comments of a product or place of interest. You can write your own reviews, give your own rating, comment, recommend or criticize something that you like or dislike. You can also form a community of your own and make friends on TheLocalKing.

3. What review can I find / What can I review on TheLocalKing?
Anything that matters to you. A bar or restaurant, tech gadgets or the newest handphone models, a commercial you saw on TV or a slimming programme you have tried.

4. What are tags?
Tags are keywords or phrases that describe or are related to an object. Tags are defined by TheLocalKing user when he/she writes a review of the object.

For example if the object is a "Nokia 8850".
Suggested tags are "handphone", "Nokia handphone".

If the object is "Crystal Jade Kitchen".
Suggested tags are "Crystal Jade", "restaurant", "Chinese restaurant",
"Cantonese restaurant".

5. How to find users' reviews and comments on "Place"?
There are 4 ways to do so. Each way will give you a list of users' reviews and comments on "Place".

a. Use the Search box, key in "Place" and press Enter.

b. Use the Categories in the front page or click "Explore" at the bottom and then in the directory, click on a category where "Place" belongs, continue the search to find "Place".

c. Use the Tags, click "Tags" on top and then in the page containing all popular tags, click one that is most relevant to "Place".

d. Use the Guide, click "Guide" on top and then look for "Place" inside the map, zoom in or zoom out if necessary. Narrow your search using "District / Region" function.

6. I still can't find it.
 Then it means nobody has written a review of it. You should write a review after you have tried it, so that others can read your review!

7. I would like to buy a "Handphone", but there are so many brands around, how can I find out which one is the best for me?
First find a list of reviews on "Handphone" as described above using methods b. and c. In the page of reviews, set "Order by:" to "User Highest Rated First". This will list reviews of top rated brand first.

8. I wish to write something about "Ipod", how can I post my own review of "Ipod"?
You must be registered user in order to post. First sign in to TheLocalKing, then click "New Post" on top to get started.

9. How do I add a thumbnail picture for my review so that the thumbnail appears in any list of reviews?
You just need to upload at least one picture using the editor. The first picture will automatically be used to make the thumbnail.

10. How do I edit a review I have posted? / How do I edit a draft I have saved?
Go to "My Profile". In the list of articles, look for the one your want to edit, then click "EDIT".

11. Can I suggest something? / Can I suggest a new city for TheLocalKing / Can I suggest new categories "AAA", "BBB" in the directory?
Send us an email. Click "Contact Us" at the bottom. We value your feedback as it help us to improve our services and keep abreast of customers' expectations. If we receive a number of emails requesting a new feature, we will add the feature as you wish.


Account

12. How do I sign up for a TheLocalKing account?
Click the "Register now!" on top to initiate the registration process. Fill in the form and give your consent to our account policies. The basic information you need to provide are those with a required sign beside the blank fields, others are optional.

After you click "Send Registration", you will receive a verification email. Check your mailbox at the email address you provided and follow further instructions.

13. How do I change my account information?
After clicking on "Settings" at the top right hand corner, you will see an "Edit your Details" page. Your account information can be changed by modifying the values in various fields and clicking "Update" at the bottom when you finish.

There are severals tabs (sections) to the centre page, governing different aspects of your account information. There are icons beside each field indicating that a field description is present or the field is required or the field is visible on profile or the field is not visible on profile. See the bottom of the page for the description of the icons.

14. I forgot my password! What should I do?
Once you fail to sign in, click on the "Lost Password?" link in Sign-In page.

Give your Username and your email address that you used in your registration. We will send you a new password. If you forgot or no longer own the email address, send us a support email via "Contact Us" at the bottom.

15. How do I cancel my TheLocalKing membership?
Send an email to us via "Contact Us" on top stating you want to cancel your membership in the subject. Upon receiving your email, we will seek a confirmation before removing your data from our database. If there is any suggestion that we can do better please let us know.
